Connect, Grow, Care, and Go is the vision of Pastors Joe and Danille. Both believe that the Bible is the written and inspired Word of God. They deeply desire to inspire Contra Costa County area and around the world. Joe and Danille's desire and vision is for people to connect with God, grow in their faith, care about others, and go with God's love and promises.

Dr. Joe's Biography

Gateway Church Concord California - Senior Pastor Dr. Joe Hernandez Joe is the Lead pastor of Gateway Church in Concord, California. Dr. Hernandez is committed to bringing the good news of Jesus Christ to people all over the Bay Area and around the world.

Pastor Joe attended Bible College in Tulsa, Okalahoma, graduating from the Pastors' class in 1993. After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Church Leadership from Bethany Bible College in Santa Cruz, California, he went on to earn a Master of Divinity from Golden Gate Theological Seminary in San Francisco, California. During that time he served a nursing home ministry, jail ministry, nursery ministry and served as youth pastor.

In April 1997, he entered service in the US Army as an “Active Duty” chaplain and was stationed in Seattle and Honolulu until May 21,2002.

In 2002, Joe obtained his Doctorate from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He has written five books so that people might experience encouragement, enrichment and enlightenment. You can obtain a free copy of one of his books, if you request it before leaving this site.

Dani's Biography

Gateway Church Concord California - Danille Hernandez Pastor Danille is a native of California, graduating in 1989 from Liberty Union High School. She also attended Bible College in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She worked extensively with youth for nine years. While living in Hawaii, Danille owned and operated a restaurant for over two years. She and Pastor Joe met while attending Bible College and were married in 1992. They now reside in Brentwood, California with their two children: Max and Zoe.

Kid's Life - Leslie's Biography

Our Children's Director

Leslie was born and raised in Littleton, Colorado. She attended bible school in Tulsa, Oklahoma and graduated from the Pastor's Class in 2004. She has been working with children for over eight years which includes some time spent working at an orphanage in Africa, YMCA, and a Boys and Girls club. She loves to see kids worship Jesus with their life, she is passionate about teaching kids to live for God now and not waiting until they grow up.

Sarah's Biography

Sarah was born and raised in the bay area. She attended Bethel School of Ministry in Redding, CA after high school and graduated in 2003. She then went on to earn her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design at The Art Institute of San Francisco in 2006. Since then, she has been pursuing her career in the fashion industry. Sarah has been in youth ministry leadership since 1998 and has a passion to inspire and ignite people to live for Christ and impact the world around them.

Keith's Biography

Pastoral Care and Director of Helps Ministry

Associate Pastor Keith Nettles resides in Antioch, CA with his wife Dede of fourteen years. They have three boys: Alex, Andrew, and Aiden. He is a graduate of Rhema Correspondence Bible School and an electrician (Electrician by day and Associate Pastor by night.) He loves the Lord and has a passion to help others learn to serve in the House of God.
